5 Wii Games Specifically Designed to Injure and Kill
The Nintendo Wii is the first gaming consoles to make gamers play games and get off their buns at the same time, but with this added freedom comes accidents. These are the top five Nintendo Wii games that were obviously made to injure and cause pain.
1. Wii Sports
Wii Sports is the best selling and first game for the Nintendo Wii console and it’s also the leader in accidents and hurt caused by any console. Tennis, Baseball, Golf, Bowling, and Boxing are the mini games of Wii Sports and all involve rapid swinging of lethal proportion and are definitely prone to accidents. Bowling has caused many cracked screens and cracked skulls, Baseball is great for Wiimote hacking action, Tennis brings out the Wiimote samurai in gamers, Boxing is an obvious candidate for hurt and accidents, and Golf becomes less boring and more tragic due to Wii Sports. While Wii Sports is a fun Nintendo Wii game, it’s obviously designed to be a mini game to the main event of causing pain and accidents.
2. Dance Dance Revolution
There are many Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) titles on the Nintendo Wii, but they are all pretty much the same game with different soundtracks [nods at Rock Band and Guitar Hero]. In Dance Dance Revolution, the objective is for the gamer to dance on a Dance Pad to the instructions and tune of the DDR soundtrack. The problem with Dance Dance Revolution is that while dancing around like ex-popping maniac, the gamer is prone to hurt their legs, people around them, and cause all sorts of accidents in the process. It’s tough keeping up with commands and the tempo of a DDR game and the flailing legs of a gamer are tantamount to those of a lethal Bruce Lee Kick to whatever makes contact with.
3. Wii Fit
Wii Fit is Nintendo’s answer to their guilt complex for making gamers fat over all the years. Wii Fit is a Nintendo Wii fitness game (duh) that manages your weight and other goals as you progress through the game (daily) and become more fit. Wii Fit is an excellent game and is pioneering an entire gaming genre, but it makes gamers prone to lots of accidents as well. Accessories and weird bodily positioning make up for most of the accidents while playing Wii Fit. The Wii Fit Balance Board is enough to cause an ample amount of pain, hurt, and suffering by itself (tripping, falling, and ripping tendons… you know…). Wii Fit likes to go under the guise of a fitness program but we know Nintendo made it as an accident and death game (and accessories).
4. WarioWare: Smooth Moves
WarioWare: Smooth Moves has my vote for weirdest (and grossest) Nintendo Wii title of all times. This mini game ridden mind numbing game is fast paced and involves lots of swinging with the Wiimote; ingredients for a slew of Nintendo Wii accidents. Not only will WarioWare cause lots of accidents, but the sheer amount of quickly paced (no time to think) mini games will guarantee to hurt your wrist (and those walking nearby).
5. Wii Sports Resort
I’ve mentioned Wii Sports before but this addition to the Wii Sports series definitely deserves a nod all its own. Wii Sports Resort brings on a barrage of mini game accidents like no other game before it (OK, maybe the original Wii Sports). Swordplay (see what I mean), Frisbee, Archery (ouch), Canoeing, Bowling, Golf, and other mini games are included in Wii Sports to make the accidents endless and the hurt nonstop.
