6 Reason Why Divinity Original Sin 2 Is A Great Game
I am mainly a shooter guy when it comes to video games. I can honestly say that I am madly in love with the game divinity original sin 2. I would like to take the time to write down a couple things that I like about the game. It is hands down my favorite role-playing game for multiple reason. This game does a great job drawing you into the story and making you feel like your chooses really make a difference in the game. This game isn’t easy either it is extremely hard and it gets only harder depending on the difficult level you play on. There is no right way of doing things I mean honestly you could go around blowing everyone up with fireball spells if you truly felt like that was the way you wanted to get things down. I mean you wouldn’t last very long in the game but it would be fun nonetheless.
Its Freaking Hard!
This game is really hard for a casual player like myself. There aren’t alot of ways to determine what to do next in the game. You will get into a lot of fights if your not actually paying attention to the story. You will end up reloading the game and becoming extremely frustrated. Also you will be punished late game if you are not building your character in the proper ways. I suggest browsing youtube.com to figure out the proper way of building the kind of character you want to play. That being said their isn’t a right or wrong way to build a character honestly. You might start off building a battle mage and he ends up more of a wizard. It took a couple me a couple times playing the game to figure out which build suits which role the best. I suggest if you have any question about anything in the game to read the official wiki You will not be able to play this game for the first time and succeed. It will take you along time to figure out how everything works. You will find yourself selling valuable stuff just because you didn’t understand what something did. Personally I suggest being a hoarder for your first playthroughs because you need a lot of items to avoid unnecessary battle early on.
There Is No Right Way To Play The Game
This is probably one of my favorite things about the game. There are many ways to complete this game. There are many ways to build your characters and there are so many combinations. The only limiter is your own mind. There is not perfect party build because everything and everybody has a weakness. I love this about the game. It took me multiple playthroughs for me to figure out the easiest way to get things down. So Don’t be sad if someone you like ends up wanted to fight you because you said the wrong thing. Also don’t be sad if you failed a persuasion check and ended up in a fight. Depending on who is end your party you could get into more fights just because they are apart of your party. Every party member in the game has a unique story and their stories do conflict with yours. It could make your playthrough easier on a lot tougher.
Like I said early you can create you character in anyway you please. You can create and assassin/warrior who is tanky but does alot of physical damage with backstabs. You could even character a Pyro/poison wizard which is probably my favorite. I love using poison and fire together because you can create mini explosions with this combo. Your you can use the air and water combo to create electricity and stun enemies. The possibilities are endless. You are not limited to playing one set role throughout the game. You actually will hurt yourself if you character isn’t diverse with multiple skill sets. I mean with the raw aspect of creating your character you don’t have alot of options as far as looks. But there are many skills, weapons and armor options.
Any game that you have crafting in is a game for me. I love making new gear and enchanting my gear. Combine nails with boots so that I don’t slip on ice. Combine unused skill books to make better ones is awesome. Again I suggest using the official wiki If you are new to the game and want to figure out the possible combinations with items. The crafting system you will never be able to figure out by yourself because honestly the game makes it nearly impossible to figure out what things that you are able to make. Other than reading books to get the crafting recipe. I suggest always using the wiki even if you are a veteran.
I love the turn based combat system. It is extremely hard you find yourself losing a character in almost every other fight because the AI are not dumb. They will focus one character hitting them with combination spells like if you have an undead in your party. you will often get hit with restoration and he will slowly die as his turn progresses. The combat is really hard and I love things that challenge me. You constantly find yourself reloading the game and finding a better place to attack at. You find yourself switching up your gear for certain fights. Like I said it pays to have a build that is diverse because if you are strictly using poison and encounter an undead foe then all your attacks are useless.
The story is amazing. I love how the game progresses. There is no right way of doing something or completing a quest. Sometimes important people do die. I suggest saving frequently because you might want to reload if someone you wanted alive, dies. I love how each of your party members has there own story. You can often find them wanting to talk to people instead of you talking to everybody. Having certain people in your party can make the game easier. Also certain roles in the game make it a lot easier. It helps to have someone that can pickpocket in your party because they can steal from every NPC one time. I won’t spoil the story in this post But I highly suggest you picking up the game.
