State of decay 2 is a post apocalypse survival zombie game. Surviving can be tough with increased amount of zombies. Fighting zombies one-on-one is a cake walk. But when there are hordes or infestations things can get more challenging. From my experience playing thing are easier playing online with a friend or using a follower because you do not want to die. Death is permanent once you die you lose your character and cannot get them back. In this guide I will teach all that I know about surviving in state of decay 2.
Loot is essential in state of decay 2. Finding the best melee weapons and guns can make surviving a lot easier. Each weapon in the game is unique in its own way. Some are quieter than others and some do more damage than others and some even have a greater chance at knocking back zombies. medical supplies, guns. ammo and melee weapons are all various things you can find from looting. When looting online loot is divided among the host and other players. But I will honestly say the host does have the advantage when it comes to looting. When playing online you will notice that the host has a lot more things to loot and arguable gets the best loot. But I suppose the when playing online the host should have the advantage because you are there in order to support the host.
Knowing the types of zombies
Knowing the different types of zombies and how to approach them can be critical. All zombies aren’t created equally.
- Screamers are armless and they don’t require much to kill them but they can make things annoying because there main reason for living is to just stand there and scream. The scream doesn’t hurt you but it does stun you. What makes the screams specials is that they are loud and draw the attention of lots of zombies. So you can find your self getting overwhelm by the amount of zombies you are fighting at one Time
- Bloaters are fat and should be taken out from a distance because when you get to close they explode in a cloud of gas that drains a huge amount of health overtime. Never run over a bloater. One shot from a distance should eliminate any problem.
- Ferals personally these are the most annoying to me they are the fastest and most evasive of all the types of zombies and they require a lot of work to kill. You can run them over so don’t even try
- Juggernauts the biggest and hardest to kill they require a lot of ammo or a hell of a lot of melee swings. After a certain amount of damage they will drop to their knees and you can finish them like kratos from god of war.
Stealth is always and option but if your anything like me stealth is kind of a waste of time even with your character having the skill “Stealth.” I only say its a waste of time because their isn’t a whole lot of opportunity for stealth. Because regardless of how stealthy you are still going to end up fighting your way out old school style
Vehicles are HUGE I mean HUGE they are so helpful they offer extra storage and they can kill zombies in a snap in you are overrun. For example I go to plague hearts and draw out all the zombies and then get in my car and run them all over. Vehicles are so helpful when it comes to survival they offer quick getaways and they save you characters stamina. Walking is terrible especially if you character stamina is already maxed out.
Guns are necessary and should be used sparingly. I suggest only using guns when taking down plague hearts and juggernauts because ammo is annoying to collect. Unless you can craft it because finding ammo isn’t easy and when you do its not always the kind you need.
Playing with friends
playing with friends is a good way to survive because those are extra inventory slots and extra fire power. Friends can help fight off zombies and collect materials to bring back to base. The whole purpose of joining someone games is to help them progress in their community.
