This game starts out with the story of the “other” villagers on the island that we haven’t yet met in the game. They’re called “heathens.” The tribe decides to send a group of villagers to find and convert the heathens to the tribe’s faith. Along the way you gain access to areas of the heathen encampment and even convert the heathens to your faith, gaining them as part of your tribe.
You must select 5 virtual villagers to go on the journey. Of these virtual villagers select 2 females, 2 males and one child (amle or female). The child is necessary to gather mushrooms and artifacts. If you prefer fast-paced gaming, it would be in your best interest to choose only villagers that have “running” listed as a “like.” This can be difficult and time-consuming, but it pays off.
When the game screen opens, your chosen villagers are stuck inside of a circular bamboo fence. You can drag them out of it but they will be chased by heathens.
To the left side of the stream, there is a small hospital. You see a purple-masked heathen who is sick and a blue-masked heathen doctor. Drag one of your villagers onto the heathen repeatedly to cure him. He becomes one of your tribe members and you have more access to the hospital.
Puzzles #2 and #3
Drag all of your adults onto the bamboo fence so they can make a granary with the bamboo fencing. This will solve your food storage problem and the fence problem at the same time, though heathens will still chase your villagers. Puzzle 2 is the building of the granary.
Once the fence is down and the granary built, make a fire with the wood pile to the right and the dry grass to the left of your camp. This will be difficult, as orange masked heathens will chase your villagers. Use the child to distract them. Don’t worry, he won’t be hurt. Finally drag an adult villager over the fir to light it.
Food will be scarce, so you need to get some as quickly as possible. Use the god power (circle at the top of the screen) for a swarm of bees. Center it over the totem to the right , which is surrounded by heathens. They will go away long enough for your villagers to dismatle the totem (you have to drag them onto it).
This gives you access to the noni bush. Harvest some noni when the red-masked heathen near the bush walks away. Note that if you do not have the granary completed, the villagers will not pick the noni– they’ll slowly starve.
Once this totem is down and the noni bush is accessible, it will also be easier to gather wood for building or keeping up with the fire.
Improving the Statue
Directly to the north of your camp, a statue with a large sphere on top needs improvement. This doesn’t solve a puzzle immediately, but it is necessary and this is a good time to do it. Drag your villagers to the statue and let them improve it as far as your current tech level (1) will allow.
Building the Love Shack
Drag your villagers onto the love shack (pile of wood and flowers) to build it up. You can now reproduce, but you should keep it at a minimum, as you need several workers and nursing mothers do not work. Reproducing is important though, as you get more “god power” with each new villager.
Puzzle four gives you access to the lab, which will allow you to build much needed tech points. Hit the totem in front of the lab with lightning and drag your villagers to it once the totem guards have fled the area. Work quickly and use all of your villagers to completely dismantle it. Once it is dismantled, use the lab as often as possible to get tech points. It’s a good idea to designate two villagers to the lab at first, adding more later as population increases.
Once you have enough tech points, upgrade you building tech. This will allow your villagers to fix the broken aqueduct, which is puzzle 5. To fix it, drag at least one Master Scientist and two training/adept/master builders.
The crops will now produce every hundred or so minutes, allowing you to harvest them. The Heathen Master Farmer joins you as well.
You may have noticed several heathens blocking the mausoleum opening at the far left bottom corner of the village. Strike lightning over them to make them scurry and drag all of your villagers to it to start unblocking. If the others come back, you must hit them with lightning once your villagers run away and then bring them back again until the blockage is cleared.
The blocking totem, in the mausoleum area, can only be dismantled by Master Builders. Strike the totem with lightning and drag as many of them as you have over to it to dismantle it. This works the same way as unblocking the mausoleum. You may need to strike the heathens several times with lightning. Just don’t strike your villagers.
Once you have six children, drag them all to the open-mouthed statue near the lake. Five of them will peep through the eye holes. The last child is too much for the totem to handle, so it dismantles immediately. Make sure all six kids are in the totem at the same time.
(Challenging the Master Builder)
On the lower left-hand corner of the screen, there are tow roped-off areas in front of the “blocking totem.” To convert the Heathen Master Builder, you need to challenge him to a “build-off.” You need a master builder and the “time warp” god power. Click the power and click it again on your master builder. Immediately drag that builder to the roped area (only when the purple-masked master builder is there) and they will begin a build-off. Your villager may disappear for a moment, but will run right back. If he/she does not, drag them back as quickly as possible. You need to defeat the Heathen Master Builder to convert him.
Continue building your population and converting the blue heathens whenever you can. Build your god power up until you get the “tempest” power. Hover over the dried up lake and activate the tempest power. This will create puddles at the bottom of the lake. Before those puddles dry up, you must activate the tempest again. The lake will be completely full. However, the lake is not a food source just yet. You need to use the “revive” god power as soon as it is available, to fill the lake with fish. Your farmers can now fish in the lake in addition to farming.
Dismantle the pain totem. To do this, Strike it with lightning and drag your villagers onto it once the heathens run away. This gives you full access to the hospital.
Once you have a master scientist, drag him to the two drawing boards at the back of the lab. The heathen master scientist will watch and celebrate your “solution.” Do this 3 times to fully convince him, but you have to wait until he has resumed his normal activity (sitting and thinking) before doing it again.
Finish the statue. You need level 3 building and level 3 spirituality. Just drag your villager onto it to finish it.
The eye of the statue near the woods. Drag a villager to the mausoleum entrance where a pan of water sits. He will take it to the stream. Continue dragging villagers onto the pan to “pan for gold” until they fill the pot by the stream with gold. Then, drag a villager onto the pot and they will take it to the fire to smelt it. Once the eye is done it will look like a golden ball. Drag a villager over it and they will take it to the statue, giving you visibility into the chief’s home.
Drag a villager into the pieces of the necklace near your statue when the chief is within his circular area. They will take the necklace to the chief and he will become one of you.
